Kind

Just trying to fit in another layout today because its crunch time for the end of the month!! so please look at my post below also from today with some Prima Goodies.

This post is for the BoBunny Layout challenge Friday. Its actually for two of the challenges a sketch and a room inspiration. I used the Enchanted collection from BoBunny because I got inspiration from the black and white pillow in the middle of the room. I like black and white layouts and it specifically matched my son's shirt.

Happy

I was extremely happy this week because I finally bought myself a die cutting machine!! My husband saw online that all die cutting machines and die cuts were 40% off last week at Joanne's. So since we live about 2 hours from the US, we got in the car last Friday (without the kids) and drove there. I bought so many goodies for so cheap it was so worth it. One of the dies I got was Tim Holtz Tattered florals which I loved but I have never been able to use. I'm really excited on how my flowers turned out. I used them on this layout out of the matching papers and I have another layout reveal with another type of flower with the same die.

I made this layout for the Prima BAP. I used their sketch and lots of Prima goodies including my all time favourite Canvas resist products which I sprayed with Aridondak green. I also used the Romantique line and  a couple of Martha Stewart punches to decorate them with. The chipboard is part of my daughter's board game. I loved the shape and it fit the layout perfectly. I painted it with Gesso and inked it with Distress dye. I used Say it with Crystals and different Prima flowers to decorate and at the top corner is a DA chippie!!

A World to Discover- Bird is the Word Design Team

I actually had two reveals due today so I waited until after Midnight to reveal the second one because I like to give each of my layouts a fair chance!! So please look below at my reveal for Creative Scrappers.
NOW....

Here is my Bird is the Word Design Team reveal. The word to use is DISCOVER. I combined my DT layout with a challenge at Once Upon A Sketch blog, and used Nadia's sketch for the design. The journaling criteria was to write about a memorable trip you've been on or a trip you would love to be on. I actually turned and flipped the sketch to make it fit my picture. I used these beautiful Sweet Nothings papers from Kaisercraft and combine them with Prima flowers. I ripped the edges of the paper and added a Webster's Pages blue doily in the ripped areas. Then I sew around the edges to give the layout a frame. I also used some Dusty Attic borders and some lace to add under the picture. I  distressed the picture to make it look antique because the background reminded me of Roman times.
The journaling talks about how on our most recent trip on the Disney Cruise they took a picture of my husband and I in front of this arched background. The arches reminded me of Italian architecture the way you see it in the photos. So it made me think that I hope to visit Italy one day with my husband and stand in front of the real arches.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!!
Have a great day!!

You are My Treasure-- Featured at Creative Scrappers

Today I'm being featured at Creative Scrappers, a fantastic Sketch blog designed by Kristine Davidson. The sketch I used is sketch #197 and it was right up my alley. I love using doilies and flowers and this was just the case.
I used these beautiful papers by Webster's pages. I actually used a vellum overlay and ripped it in the edges. I sew around the edges and added a WP's doilies in the ripped edges. I cut the doilies so I'll have enough for all the rips. I also used lots of Petaloo flowers and some Dusty Attic swirls that I cut out of a frame. Finally I added WP"s sparklers which we had to use for the February challenge at Inspire Me
Here is my layout and the close-ups

Graphic 45 Design Team 2012 Audition

I decided to apply for the Graphic 45 Design Team because I've used their beautiful papers in many different occasions and I truly love how versatile they are. I love that you can create so many different projects with them from Shabby Chic to Grungy and use so many cool images. Graphic 45 has a very unique style and I'd love to be part of it!!!

Here are 6 different projects using Graphic 45 Papers.

First up is a beautiful altered box made for my Mother in law's birthday. I used the Once Upon a Springtime Collection!!

Here is a mini-album I made about my daughter. She loves making silly faces and I captured it completely in this book using the Le Cirque paper line. It just fit the theme perfectly, if you know what I mean. I also used Fashionista, The Magic of Oz and Curtain call papers. All these lines go so well together and blended perfectly in the book.

Here is a beautiful Jewelry box I made for my daughter's room with the Once Upon a Spring time collection. My daughter loves fairies and princess and it fit her room perfectly!!

For this grungy layout, I used Curtain Call papers. I loved how the theme and colors matched perfectly with my son's serious face. As a kid, my favourite clown was a Pierot and I used to collect them. I love how they peek at you from behind the background. My favourite part of this layout is the bottom corner. I used film strip over the mini-prints of my son's other posed faces.

I made this layout using the Steam Punk paper collection. One of my favourite things are butterflies. I include them in many of my layouts because I have a connection with them.  I loved using these butterflies because they were so bold and beautiful.

Finally I'm showcasing a layout of my daughter using the Once Upon a Springtime collection which is obviously one of my favourites. I love the Shabby Chic feel and the beautiful flowers and fairies. It reminds me of the new Graphic 45 collection Little Darlings because of the pastel colors.

XOX- ScrapFit workout #62 and Altered box

Here is the layout I made for my reveal at ScrapFit Workout #62. Since its February the month of love, it was fitting that you had to include in your workout "XOX". I decided to make a layout about my daughter and I used XOX  as the title.

The sponsor for this workout is: K Studio  http://www.etsy.com/shop/ShopKStudio
and this is what you could win if you participate:

I used these beautiful MME papers. One of them even had xoxo printed all over it. I used it as a background. I rotated and shrunk the sketch so it can fit on my page below the birdie banner without covering it. I really wanted to showcase this banner because its so beautiful.Of course following my style I added lots of flowers, doilies and a white bird.  The sketch I used was from the MME blog challenge #32: layout. The theme of the layout is "you". I wrote many different messages above the bird banner to fit the "you" theme. It says: "you are so beautiful to me..." and "I love you" and "you are special".  I also journaled about my daughter and tucked it under one of the photo mats.

The other project I want to show you today is an altered box I made with the beautiful papers from Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime. I used some doilies, flowers, leaves and I cut some fairies out of the papers. I'm quite happy with how it turned out being my first time making a box. I hope you like it!!
