Mixed Media Cards- 7 Dots Studio with Video tutorial

Hi Everyone!!,
I created two mixed media cards  for the 7 Dots Studio blog using the Homegrown and Fortune Teller collections. I have a video tutorial on how I created these cards.

Here is the video:

I really love the chipboard pieces from the Fortune teller collection and I really wanted to use them on a project. The dreamcatcher is so beautiful and the sun and moon are celestial. Therefore, I really wanted to create a celestial feel to the cards so I used shimmery embossing powder and fine glitter.

Here are some close-ups of both cards:

This is my third layout this month for the Blue Fern Studios Blog and I used the Regalia paper from the Seaside Cottage Collection.

I loved creating texture behind my photo by using cheese cloth which I glued with soft gel. I also used Blue Fern Studios blooms and shells like in my other layouts

To mat the photo I used a couple of pieces from the calling cards paper. I also used the "Seaside Charms" and "The end of a perfect day" title to embellish the layout. I embossed them with the Sea Mist embossing powder.

By The Sea- Blue Fern Studios Seaside Cottage Collection

Here is my second layout for this month's post on the Blue Fern Studios Blog. I used the Voyage paper from the Seaside Cottage collection.

I actually cut the background paper in half and  connected the two edges in the middle so the sail boat would be in the center. Then I used some paste and stencils to create some wave like pattern to cover the seam.

I used the large Blue Fern Flourish chipboard to give the photo some wave-like movement. I embossed the flourish with Sea Mist embossing powder.
As a title I used part of the calling cards paper and then added some Seaside Lilies, roses and other Blue Fern Studios blooms. I also added shells of course.

Calm-- Blue Fern Studios Seaside Cottage collection

Hi Everyone!!
I was thrilled to receive the new Seaside Cottage collection.
I love the beach and being near the ocean. It's my ideal vacation and I go there any chance I get.
I don't live near the ocean, but whenever I go, I love taking photos on the beach and near the water.
I also love collecting shells and then using them on my projects.
I've created three beach themed layouts this month for Blue Fern Studios.

Here is the first one. The other ones will be posted on my blog within the next few days!!

I used the Embark paper  from the Seaside Cottage collection for the background. I stencilled it with a "fish scale" looking pattern with a FabScraps stencil. Then I sprayed it with blue ink.

The Seaside Frame and Flourish were embossed with Blue Fern Studios Oatmeal embossing powder. Then I gave it some blue touch-ups. The calm title was painted in blue and then covered in clear glittery stickles.

Finally, I added Blue Fern Studios flowers and some seashells I collected during one of my trips.

Poppies- Mixed Media Canvas for 7 Dots Studio

I created this 6x12" mixed media canvas for the 7 Dots Studio blog using their Homegrown collection.
I gave this canvas as a teacher's gift for my daughter's teacher.

Although its hard to tell, I used the Homegrown-Attic paper for the background. The paper has poppies and red splatters. The poppies were painted in red acrylic paint to match the other poppies on the canvas. However I left the red splatters intact, and although they look like real paint splatters they are actually part of the page. You can see the red splatters in the background below.

The large poppies were created using light modelling paste. Once dry I painted them in red and added black and white accents. The small poppies and stems were created using the UmWowStudio poppy pod stencil. I dragged the stencil down the to create the longer stems.

Welcome to the first day of August!  It's a new month and that means Blue Fern Studios has a new challenge for you.
This month's challenge is 3 Collections + You!

During August, we are asking you to create a project using one of the 3 most recent paper collections from Blue Fern Studios.   Here is a sampling of each collection, but you can use any paper from these collections:

Seaside Cottage

Attic Charm

 Tranquility

Everything else is up to you!  We will have a prize package of Blue Fern products for one winner chosen by a random draw.  In addition, we will also feature a few projects!

You can create any project you please - a layout, card, canvas, altered item, mini-album, etc. as long as you use at lease one paper from the above mentioned paper collections.

Please upload your project using the Inlinkz tool by midnight EST on August 31, 2016 to the Blue Fern Studios Blog HERE
